Maggie M. Winterstein

Maggie started her legal career as a employee of the Department for Courts during her University Holidays. After admission as a Barrister and Solicitor, she worked as a junior barrister for Mr. Simativa Perese in the area of civil and commercial law. From there she moved to become one of the first two non-sworn Police Prosecutors in the Counties Manukau area. Maggie became a Barrister Sole in 2009 and joined Liberty Law Barristers upon its inception.

  • Has successfully defended numerous matters in Judge-Alone and Jury Trials and completed numerous applications including discharges without conviction, limited licences, s94 community based sentences in lieu of disqualification and various pre-trial applications in the Youth and Adult jurisdictions. She also presented at the Inaugural Pacific Lawyers Association Conference and will present at the Youth Advocates Seminar hosted by ADLS.
